PEMATANGSIANTAR — SEGARIS.CO — HKTI North Sumatra, in early January 2025, will hold an education and training program for farmers/farmer groups and millennial farmers in districts/cities in North Sumatra.
“The training education is held as HKTI North Sumatra’s appreciation for the great idea of the President, Prabowo Subianto, namely the NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY SELF-SUFFICIENCY acceleration program,” said the Head of the Education and Training Division [DIKLAT] of the Indonesian Farmers Association [HKTI] of North Sumatra [Sumut], Dr. Tuankus Harianja MM, MH in a chat with the Head of HKTI Pematangsiantar City, Sudianto Wilis, and the Editor-in-Chief of Segaris.co, Ingot Simangunsong, on Tuesday [19/11/2024].
Tuangkus Harianja said, the form of seriousness for the Diklat title, by visiting several HKTI administrators, such as Pematangsiantar City, Simalungun Regency, and Samosir.
“I built communication with all HKTI district/city administrators, to align perceptions of the big idea of the President, who is also the Chairperson of the HKTI Advisory Board,” said Tuangkus Harianja.
Engaging millennials
He described, the target of the food self-sufficiency program that will involve millennials to contribute as millennial farmers, is also a serious concern of HKTI North Sumatra.
“We will encourage millennial farmers to participate in accelerating the food self-sufficiency process. With what Mr. Sudianto Wilis has done with hydroponic plants that can be used as the main source of income for food security for families in particular, it can be used as a testimony to encourage millennial farmers,” said Tuangkus Harianja.
Ready to hold Training
In a chat while looking at Sudianto Wilis’ lettuce and melon plants on the 3rd floor of the BNN Pematangsiantar City and the Tanjungpinggir area, Siantar Martoba District, Tuangkus Harianja also expressed his support for HKTI Pematangsiantar to become the first city to hold Training in January 2025.
“We will prepare Training,” said Sudianto Wilis who has been the Chair of HKTI Pematangsiantar for three years, with 20 members who are studying hydroponic plant patterns.
Sudianto Wilis is also ready to be a resource person for Training.
“HKTI North Sumatra will provide support to invite Bank North Sumatra and insurance. Yes, we will provide assistance so that farmers can become managers on their own land, not become WORKERS,” said Pourkus Harianja. [***]
