PEMATANGSIANTAR — SEGARIS.CO — The community of Siantar Marimbun District voiced their support for the candidate pair for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Pematangsiantar, Mangatas Silalahi and Ade Sandrawati Purba.
This support was expressed in a coffee and breakfast event held on Jalan Parapat, Tong Marimbun Village, Monday (11/18/2024).
Guntur, one of the residents, expressed the community’s hope that Pematangsiantar City would experience significant changes, especially in development that can be felt directly by residents.

“We are ready to support Mangatas Silalahi selflessly. Even without payment, we sincerely win this pair,” said Guntur, which was greeted by applause from the audience.
Guntur also conveyed several aspirations, one of which was the urgent need for a State High School in Siantar Marimbun District.
“Our children have to travel far to the city to go to school. We hope that if elected, Mr. Mangatas can fight for the construction of a public high school here,” he said.
Another issue raised was the damage to the irrigation channels which has an impact on farmers’ difficulties in farming.
Although the damage is in the Simalungun Regency area, the effects are felt by the Siantar Marimbun community.
“We ask Mr. Mangatas to help communicate with the Simalungun Regency Government to fix it,” he explained.
In line with that, a resident with the surname Silalahi also gave his views.
He considered Mangatas Silalahi to have leadership that cannot be doubted.
“In the past, we fully supported the late Asner Silalahi, but fate said otherwise. Now, we see the spirit of Mangatas Silalahi going directly to the community, and this is what we expect from a leader,” he said.
On that occasion, Mangatas Silalahi expressed his emotion for the sincere support of the community.
“The enthusiasm of the residents is very high. Many have stated that they are ready to vote without compensation, this really touches my heart,” said Mangatas.
He is also committed to resolving irrigation problems if elected later.
According to him, this can be overcome with good communication between the city and district governments.
“I will submit the photo of the irrigation damage to the Golkar Faction in the DPRD for follow-up,” he said.
Regarding the construction of the State High School, Mangatas said he would seek cooperation with the North Sumatra Provincial Government and the central government to provide land in the area.
“One of the government’s focuses is improving education, and this only requires communication and willingness,” he said.
At the end of the event, Mangatas again invited the public to support candidate pair number 2 for the sake of realizing a better progress in Pematangsiantar City. [Samsudin Harahap/***]
