SAMOSIR — SEGARIS.CO — The Aquabike Jetski World Championship 2024 event made history by breaking the MURI Record in the category of “Most Tortor Hata Sopisik Dances.”
A total of 1,431 students from elementary to high school levels in Samosir Regency performed this traditional Batak dance simultaneously along Zone 2 to Zone 4, Floating Waterfront Stage, Sunday (11/17/2024).
The colossal performance was part of the excitement of the Opening Ceremony which also featured the national anthem Indonesia Raya by Indra Sinaga, a local son who also made the people of Samosir proud.
ITDC Commercial Director, Troy Warokka, said that this opening not only showed the preservation of Batak culture, but also became an event to promote Indonesia’s cultural richness to the international world.

“With a target of 180 million global impressions, Lake Toba is further strengthening its position as a world-class tourist destination,” said Troy.
This record not only makes the people of Samosir proud, but also symbolizes the commitment to preserving local culture under the theme #UnitedSpiritofLakeToba.
In addition, this event also illustrates the spirit of unity and love for Nusantara culture.
The peak momentum of this international event fell on the fifth day, when the final round of the five main categories was held: Ski Ladies GP1, Ski GP1, Runabout GP1, Freestyle, and Parallel Slalom.
More than 100 racers from 30 countries competed for the world championship title at Lake Toba, which is increasingly known as a world-class tourist destination.
The excitement of the Samosir People’s Party was even more pronounced with the presence of thousands of people, both local and foreign tourists.
