MEDAN – SEGARIS.CO — An unidentified woman was found dead on the side of Jalan Ismail Harun, Tembung Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, on Tuesday (12/11/2024) morning.
When found, the victim was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and hugging black shoes.
The location of the discovery, which is behind the Citra Land Gama City housing complex, is known to often be a garbage dump.
After an investigation, the victim was identified as Dameriahta Tarigan (42), a babysitter who lives in the Sukaramai Market area.
This tragic news shocked her husband, Syahrum (57), who only found out about his wife’s death at 10:00 WIB on the same day.
“She left for work as usual at around 06:00 WIB. Usually, she takes public transportation,” said Syahrum on Wednesday (13/11/2024) on Jalan Kapten Jamil Lubis.
Syahrum, who has been battling a stroke for the past year, admitted that his wife had no problems.
“Lastly, she said goodbye to go to work as usual,” he added.
Police Reveal Perpetrators and Motive
The police moved quickly and managed to arrest four suspects, namely Dedi (37), his wife Mariani (49), and two of their relatives, Dedi Gunawan (41) and Sanif (36).
From the results of the investigation, Mariani, who is Dedi’s legal wife, is suspected of being the mastermind behind the murder.
The victim, Dameriahta Tarigan, was known to have been in a romantic relationship with Dedi for the past two months.
This illicit relationship occurred amidst the rift in the household of Dedi and Mariani, who recently lived separately in her family’s house in Sei Mencirim Village.
Dameriahta had been the backbone of her family since her husband was no longer working due to a stroke.
However, her illicit relationship with Dedi is suspected of triggering a conflict that ended tragically.
The police are still investigating further the motives and roles of each suspect in this case.
This murder case has left deep sorrow for the victim’s family and is a reminder of the importance of resolving conflicts wisely without involving violence.
Medan Tembung Police Chief, Commissioner Jhonson said Mariani was the main suspect, while 3 other suspects played a role in disposing of the victim’s body.
According to him, Mariani had fought with the victim in the room witnessed by Dedi. Then Mariani hit the victim’s head on the table and floor until he had convulsions. [RE/***]
