SAMOSIR — SEGARIS.CO – The international Aquabike Jetski World Championship 2024 Grand Prix Lake Toba officially ended brilliantly on Sunday (11/17/2024).
The peak event held on Sunday not only presented fierce competition in five main categories, but also became a stage for preserving Indonesian culture and promoting tourism to the international world.
The event was attended by a number of important figures, including the Minister of Youth and Sports Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Enik, Acting President Director of InJourney Maya Watono, and Founder of H2O Racing Management, Nicolo Di San Germano, Acting Regent of Samosir, Martua Sitanggang, and elements of the Forkopimda.
MURI record and preservation of Batak culture
One of the main highlights was the breaking of the MURI Record in the category of “Most Tortor Hata Sopisik Dances.”
A total of 1,431 students from various levels of education in Samosir Regency performed Batak traditional dances simultaneously in Zones 2 to 4 of Waterfront City.
The award certificate was presented directly by the Director of Operations of MURI, Yusuf Ngadri, to the Commercial Director of ITDC, Troy Warokka.
“This opening not only preserves Batak culture, but also becomes a momentum to introduce the richness of Indonesian culture to the world. With 180 million expected global impressions, Lake Toba is increasingly solid as a leading tourist destination,” said Troy.

The long-awaited final moment
On the last day, the audience was treated to spectacular action in the final round of five main categories: Ski Ladies GP1, Ski GP1, Runabout GP1, Freestyle, and Parallel Slalom.
A total of 100 racers from 30 countries competed for the world championship title in one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Indonesia.
Minister of Youth and Sports Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo expressed his appreciation for the success of this event.
“The world jet ski championship in Samosir this year not only shows the progress of facilities and management, but also the increasing participation from abroad,” he said.
The Minister of Youth and Sports also emphasized that Indonesia has proven its capacity as a host that attracts global attention.
Local champions and pride
In addition to the main competition, the Solu Bolon final as part of the side event also took place lively.
Samosir Regency came out as the first winner, taking home a prize of Rp100 million.
The second winner was North Tapanuli Regency, followed by Toba and Humbang Hasundutan Regencies in third and fourth positions.
The following is a list of winners in the main categories: 1. Ski Ladies Parallel Slalom: 1st place: Benedicte Drange (Norway), 2nd place: Jasmine Ypraus (Estonia) and 3rd place: Sofie Borgstrom (Sweden).
2. Ski Division GP1 Parallel Slalom: 1st Place: Mickael Poret (France), 2nd Place: Morgan Poret (France) and 3rd Place: Drag Martin Drange (Norway).
3. Runabout GP1 Parallel Slalom: 1st Place: Samuel Johanson (Sweden), 2nd Place: Gyorgy Kasza (Hungary) and 3rd Place: Jeremy Perez (France).
4. Freestyle: 1st Place: Rashid Almulla (UAE), 2nd Place: Roberto Mariani (Italy) and 3rd Place: Paulo Nunes (Portugal).
